Super Easy 5 step Swedish Sticky Chocolate Mud Cake

Ever heard of Kladd kaka, the Swedish sticky chocolate mud cake? Every home in Sweden will know how to make a “Kladd Kaka” or Swedish sticky chocolate cake. I love making this cake because it is so easy to make.

It is one of those cakes where you put all the ingredients together and mix, pour, cook & done! There are just 5 steps to it!

Say you have some guests coming in the afternoon for a cup of tea. You can easily whip this cake and with your afternoon tea. Many times we whip some cream and serve it with a dollop of cream or vanilla ice cream. Sometimes I might even be a bit naughty and have both. It also goes well with raspberries and icing sugar. Chocolate and raspberries are a match made in heaven. You can also decorate your Swedish sticky chocolate mud cake with other berries like blueberries, blackberries, or strawberries.

A nifty little trick while serving is to put frozen berries on top of your cake, I prefer raspberries, put them on an hour before serving your cake and once the berries melt all that berry water makes this cake so much tastier.

This chocolate mud cake is moist. If you cook it the day before, you will find that the outer layer forms a crust while the inside stays moist. So yummmm!
